So this is Saturday....

for some reason it seems to have been a long week. You know the kind that seem to stretch on forever with no end in sight! I always thought that when you were busy, time flew by...not so this week. This week I learned a few things.

Am I the last person on the planet to find out what a " Siggy " is?? I guess it's the newest thing around the web. I did try a couple, believe me, nothing like the ones I saw floating around the Internet. Between you and me, they are cool, but I think I will stick to making scrap pages. No offense to you Siggy makers out there, you do your thing, I'll do mine

Apparently mine is to be a farmers wife....(I should say a "want to be" farmers wife) My dear hubby is ...oh whats the word...obsessed...yeah...with all things farming.

Single girls, a hint for you, if the love of your life stares lovingly at a packet of seeds...RUN!!!

Our field ( garden) has done it's thing and vegies have either been harvested or are getting ready to harvest. On Friday we made 16 quarts of tomato juice, add that to the 10 quarts from the other day and I am pretty sure we have enough to last for a long time. The zucchini is sliced, breaded, fried, wrapped and in the freezer. Sometime today I start making zucchini casseroles for the freezer. You see I have a hubby who believes you can never have to many tomato plants or zucchini plants in your fields!! I am here to tell you "YES YOU CAN"!!! In all fairness to dear hubby, it is rewarding to know that the meal I put on the table is almost entirely from things that we planted or raised ourselves.

I also learned this week that even a small snippet of a song can stick in your head and torture you forever! The chicken dance!! That song is like engraved inside the walls of my head, it has set up permanent residence there. It's newest neighbor is The homegrown tomato song. If your reading this going HUH? then check out Miss Gerri or Miss Carols blogs. These two have made me go out and buy stock in the Depends company!

I learned something else this week...friends are priceless. I have a best friend who has been by my side for more years than I can remember, she has always been there. Shirley is my reach out and touch for real friend....BUT... I have also been blessed with what we all call "cyber" friends. Heck, I just call them my friends. These are ladies I have never met (tho I hope to) and yet I feel like I know them so well...I know them not by meeting face to face, but by meeting heart to heart or laugh to laugh. They are truly priceless!!

Well, dear hubby is calling from the kitchen, he has the zucchini ready for me to start slicing and dicing, so I best get out there and start my day. Yes, a day filled with memories, vegetable memories....but we take memories from where ever we can because each one is special.

As always "fill it to the brim" the flavor is awesome and the aroma will linger long after in your heart!

Hugs to all!!!!
