thought I would spend some time playing. LOL I took this photo Christmas Eve at Carin's. Finally got all the kids in one shot. Zack, Brick, Garrett and of course Beira. Yup have a feeling that as she starts to get to that dating age, the boys who would like to date her are going to have to pass inspection by these 3. They watch over her like you would not believe. I used a kit called "Traditions" by Kimeric Kreations. It was part of Blogtrain 2011.
And yes Miss G....Green Bay is mourning the loss on Sunday, but hey we did good this year and I am still 100% proud of our Packers. I must tell you all tho that Zack....He is a Giants fan, and Yankee fan and well anything to do with New York fan. So the outcome of the game made him a happy guy!
We were supposed to get an inch or two of snow today, instead got just a bit and then wow COLD!!!! Going to be 4* tonight and windy. Time for down quilt and flannel jammies!!!!!

Dogs are all curled up by the fireplace and if there was room, I would be too!!!!

Instead I am waiting for the oven cleaner gunk to do it's magic so I can clean that thing ( had a few spills at Christmas) it needs it.

Well ladies, I am going to go get another cup of coffee and maybe plow a field on farmville(yup I play that and it is getting so complex, more like a job than fun)

I played around with a kit the other day and came up with this one of Miss KBB. Just felt like playing for a bit.
Nothing really going on in my little world today. Dennis is blowing leaves (yes before the snow this time) LOL Dogs are curled up in the living room soaking up the sun shine. I have beef tips (ok actually cheap pieces of stew meat) cooking in the crock pot and finished most of my Susi Homemaker tasks....so here I am.
The stuff in the crock pot is oh EASY!!! and CHEAP....2 words I live by hehehehehehehe!!
Pkg of stew meat, dump a can of beef gravy in there add some onions if you want and let it go...cook about 6 hours on low or 4 hours on high, serve on rice!! How much easier can it be.
The weather man said the " S " word this morning, could get some maybe on Wednesday, not as much as you Sylvia but some anyway.
Ladies I would stick around for awhile but Dear Hubby is calling my name so go make some memories....

Did I ever tell you all that I am afraid of dogs?? yup, me the lady who ended up with 5 Labs. Oh we had dogs when I was growing up, but for some reason when I got older dogs and me did not get along. Might be because I was bitten by a couple(the kind that the owner would say"Oh he's friendly, wont hurt you) I have the scars to prove otherwise. But then I met Halli, she was a soft fur ball of love, (the fact that she was a "flatlander*" puppy didn't bother me at all. She rode on my lap all the way home that day, curled up in a ball, content as could be. Sweet puppy I kept thinking, I also have pj's with holes in the pant cuffs to proof that she thought I was her own personal chew toy. That changed tho and as much as Dennis thought she would be his great bird hunting dog(which she was) she became my girl. She was not afraid of the sound of a gun...but one clap of thunder would have her running to my side. Labs are supposed to love water and Halli did, but rain....one drop and she would not go outside no matter how badly she had to go, and wet grass, oh my goodness!! She would lift her feet up like she was walking on hot coals!! When Zack was born he had jaundice and had to be on a billy blanket, he was also so small so when we had him in the living room he slept in a wooden doll crib, Halli would sit with her nose on the edge of that crib and the minute Zack stirred she would come and get us, no barking just come and get us. She loved Zack, he could do anything to her and he usually did LOL they shared so much infact even a pacifier one time LOL!! She was my foot warmer on many cold nights and her tail, my fan on some hot days. She was my friend.
Today life has gone full circle, I took her home again, not her whole body curled on my lap, but her head gently laying in my lap. Today she truly went home. 14 years is a long time for a Lab, she was tired, her legs were stiff with pain and watching her try to walk was not good. She was almost blind and would get confused sometimes, but her tail...it never stopped wagging. I always said she was my old soul puppy, such a gentle dog, she was my friend.
I am sorry this is long, but believe me if I had written everything I am feeling it would be longer.
Good bye Hallibean, go chase some ducks....and stay out of the rain.

Couldn't resist the comparison photos!! Zack still loves his hats! They used to be cute little ones that Mommy or me picked out, now they are for sure "New York Yankee" hats and they have to be a certain kind! He will be 13 this December, have no idea where the time has gone. From what I hear he is the heartthrob of middle school!!!

Some stuff I can make in an oven

The Tomato Pie is so good. The original recipe didn't have Italian sausage in it but I added it one time and it is so good!! Like a deep dish pizza.

The cookies, I used to make them for the kids when they were little (*before I became oven challenged) I hadn't made them in years and thought what the hey, might as well try LOL

sure make the house a bit quieter!! LOL Hubby left this morning for the Ackley Marsh area to do some duck hunting. He took Sprig and Mo....hehehehehehe that should be nothing if not interesting. Sprig is a great retriever...Mo, well good on the go and get it but not so much on the bring it back part!
So it's just me Hallie, Widge and Kota...who right now are chewing away on chew toys in the other room.
I was going to go to Zacks football game this morning but between the rain and my car deciding to act up..nope I am home.

Conversation with my Dear Sissy Susi went like this
Dear Sissy- " so what ya up to?"
Loving Sister- " Oh not much, I am making a batch of cookies"
THEN without so much as a moment of hesitation her next sentence was....
" REAL ONES??"
This comment was followed by my total disbelief that my own Sister would say that and from her side of the phone... laughter, snorting and OMG my eyes are tearing and I almost wet my pants!! People CAN I GET NO RESPECT HERE!!!!!!
I will have you all know that these are about the only cookies I can make without the Hockey Association calling to see if I would be willing to sell them some to use in their games!!
(well alright some of them may be a bit hard)
Well Ladies, I am going to make some good use of this day, I have cleaning to do, some rearranging of furniture ( I do that when Hubby is not home LOL), laundry to finish..oh and maybe just maybe spend some time playing games on the computer( who am I kidding, I will be in the office most of the day LOL)

The " Duck Boat"

Bet you were all thinking it was a boat shaped like a duck right??!! Nope! I have to say when my Dear Hubby sets his mind on something, he does do it pretty good!
1. He measured the boat and took straight galvanized pipe and bent it to form the shape he needed. (no not by hand, with a tool made for bending pipe that he borrowed from a friend)
2. On the one side he attached Tyvek ( made for wrapping a house to keep moisture out) He did this to provide a sort of wind break.
3.The marsh grass goes on. He attached about 24 feet of this stuff.
4. He still has to attach some grass to the one end fitting around the boat motor, but so far it is about what he wanted...... well no, he wanted the $4500.00 boat already done, but that wasn't gonna happen in my life time!!
He is going duck hunting this weekend and because he has been spending every minute working on this thing...(and not doing much else around here) I asked if the boat would be done in time........ His answer......"Oh I am not using it this weekend, I wont need it till maybe the following week when I hunt around here!!!
Loving wife just turned around, shook her head and walked back into the house mumbling something under her breath!!!

After the game on Saturday we went over and got Sam and the day....well it just got away from us. LOL Zack's game was great as always. His team is doing awesome. In the page above there are 3 photos I took of him. He is the tallest on his team and is a lineman. They won't let him be a running back or a receiver because he is so tall and with his long frame and speed, well lets just say the other teams would not stand a chance!! LOL He has grown so much, gotten to be such a good looking young man ( yup and that comes with girls(lots of girls) calling or wanting his attention) He is still my Bub, and still holds such a big place in my heart!!
He is also at that "wonderful " age of not quite a teen but not a kid either...oh that brings such Joy to his Mom...not!!
Sam was such fun to have for a visit, he is now in 1/2 day 4K and he loves it. Made lots of friends and thinks his teacher is cool. He must also be going thru a growth spurt because he almost finished off a whole pizza for lunch by himself!!
Scott came and got him later in the day and by then I just wanted to sleep!! Sorry I didn't get back in here sooner.

Oh by the way Dear Hubby has a new pastime!!! conversation 2 years ago...
Dear Hubby- " I would like to buy a duck boat, you know with the grass stuff on it, they are only a couple thousand dollars"
Loving Wife- "What are you nuts?? you have 3 small boats out there that I bet you could make into one yourself and it would be alot cheaper"
Hubby- " Too much time and work" (NO we did not buy a duck boat)
Conversation 2 weeks ago....
Dear Hubby- " Hey guess what I just saw on TV? A place where I could get the instructions to build a duck boat, It sounds like a great idea and cheaper than buying one"
Wife- No you do not want to hear exactly what I said
So now 2 weeks later hubby has a duck boat in the garage. He really did do a good job on it....only one problem.....while working on it he of course had the sides up so he could attach the long marsh grass to them.....I quietly asked " What happens when you close it down for trailering?
Hubbies answer..." Not sure, I haven't tried closing it yet!!!!!"

I only have a couple minutes and then Dear Hubby will be "gently" calling my name....we have to get to the Falls to watch Zack play football and then after that go pick up Sam the Man because both Mommy and Daddy have to work today. I will try I promise to get back in here later honest!!!

Busy Saturday morning..

Not a lot of time to ramble this morning. I am the proud owner of some really big zucchini's and I searched the web to find new recipes to use them in. Found some that sound pretty good, so my kitchen is now a sea of green zucchini skins, seeds and various cheese!! LOL
It is still quite muggy here so I wanted to try and get them in the oven before it gets warmer. The air has already kicked in a couple times (maybe cus the oven is set at 400*)
If these turn out I will send the recipes out. In the mean time ladies, go make some memories!!!

A week of "what the heys"

Been a week filled with surgeries around our place. My sister Susi had to have a stent put in her kidney (she only has one by the way) going to her bladder. She has been having problems with stones and an infection, so they are hoping this will work to drain bad stuff out. She came thru the surgery fine but is still quite sore. She was born with only one kidney and a few years ago we were all tested to see if we would be matches for her, we all were....only thing is Patti passed away, Bonnie has had breast cancer so no donating of a kidney from either of them...that leaves me and I would not hesitate for a second.
Next surgery was Farmer McBrown, he had a trigger finger on his right hand operated on. He is now walking around with a big bandage around his right hand(the one he uses for everything) and telling me "I can do it leave me be" OOOKKKAAAYYY!!!!!! I do not want to be mean to a person in pain...but....I don't really want to be in the same room with him either (if ya know what I mean)
The next surgery was Widge, she finally came into heat again(1st time since the pups) and we had her made puppy proof!!! LOL She did fine, we took her in yesterday and she came home this afternoon. Now to keep her quiet hehehehe, she is in the spare room by her self in a kennel.
My burn is all better, all tho I am thinking I will have a bit of a scar going around my leg. Hey I guess after burning a couple layers of skin that might be expected huh??
Anyone ever hear of a software company called "Attributor Inc" apparently they have a program that goes around the web searching for copyright and unlicensed use of products...well...guess who they picked on??? Yup me!!! One of my wordarts, one of my thoughts, one that came from my brain not someones else's. 4 shared actually sent me a threatening letter telling me they would pull my account. I have sent an email to Attributor and I am oh so not patiently waiting for an answer!!!!! Between them and all those "wonderful" search engines that offer direct download to my stuff, well it makes me wonder why I keep doing it.
Oh well, life goes on right!!!!
Off to check supper in the oven, made a zucchini casserole and it smells sooo good. Hope you have all made some memories, it is important to do that once in awhile ya know!!

My sister Susi sent me this copy of a photo she had taken in my backyard one time. We have a small wild flower like patch and every year for the month of August we have Monarchs. So Many of them. There is one flower that they love, and Susi got this great photo of one of them enjoying it! Thanks Sissy for sending me this.
BTW.. burn is getting better. Still a couple spots that hurt, but I am hoping not for much longer.
Well, I best be getting off the computer, we have storms today..what a summer..either so flippin hot and humid that you cant go or do anything...or storms!

Been away from the computer for a bit, sorry...but I have a good reason Really!!
Dennis was in the driveway (gravel by the way) brushing Kota. He had her on a retractable leash because he could keep her in one spot better, she likes to investigate everything! Well I decided to walk down to get the mail, and stopped to say hi to them and then on my way...Kota decided to come with me, only running at full speed, Dennis lost the leash and she was heading for the road(which at this time of year has alot of big farm vehicles on it) I tried stepping on the leash but missed and decided to just fall on it( I did get the gravel out of my knees by the way) but the leash kept retracting after she stopped...retracting at about 30 miles an hour around my right leg. I now have a 2ND degree rope burn on my right leg!! Talk about pain Holy you know what!!!
I have been putting Silverdene on it and I am taking antibiotics so hopefully it will get better. This happened a week ago today and let me tell you it still hurts!!!
My Doctor said it will take about another couple weeks to start feeling better. Sleep, sitting in one spot, walking, well doing anything has not been fun.

Guess who turned 5 yesterday?????

Not sure where the years went!! She has grown up so fast and I am amazed everyday at the things she says and does!! An example of a conversation with Miss KBB....
(I didn't call her right away yesterday, I wanted to wait till later in the day when I knew Mommy would be home) so...
Me- " Hi Beira"
KBB- " Isn't there something you want to talk to me about Grandma"
Me- " well yes (and then I sang Happy Birthday to her)
KBB- "giggles" Thank you, Grandma how do you make 5's?? I am practising and I could do it before but now they look like S'es" ( so I kind of explained how to do it)
KBB- "ok but that doesn't sound right, I will do it my way"
It has been so hot here so we are waiting till Thursday to get together for a Birthday cookout(praying the weather gets a bit nicer) today they said its the worst in about 15 years. Heat index over 115!!!! Our thermometer on the deck says 100 right now....Carol make room I am packing my bags, Gerri pick me up on your way thru ok??!!

See that feels like temp.....109* Oh I am so not outside...I am so inside where the air conditioner is my new BFF!!!! This little heat wave is supposed to stick around for about a week. Hope you are all staying cool where ever you are!!
The pups are even sleeping close to the vents, in fact Mo likes sleeping on the vent!! No puppy you have to share!!!

Front yard visitors

Dennis had taken one of the dogs out in the front yard and came back in to have me get my camera, he wouldn't tell me why. Well when I saw these 3 I was surprised!! Triplets Yup! One of them was more playful than the other two, it was running all around the wooded area. The other two were quite content to just catch some zzz's. I am sure the Mom was somewhere close(we have seen her in the front yard checking out my hosta's) We watched them for some time and then heard a noise and away they went (think the mom was calling them)
I know I can complain about the long driveway and the wood ticky tickies, but when things like these little one show up, well it makes it worth it....now the bears....that's a different story!!! LOL

Our Miss Gerri, what would we do without her. She has turned us into so many things, sent us places we would never have gone on our own and generally made our lives a bit fuller. I am so glad I found that free trial disc for Scrapbook flair in the back of that scrapping magazine so many moons ago, without that I would never have met this awesome lady. With her, what you see is what you get....and what you get is a funny, loving caring...Real...person! I am so thankful that I can call you my friend!!!

Bet you all wondered if Dear Hubby forgot me at Woodmans again! Nope, things came up and it has been a busy week. Nothing new on Hubbies leg, they have suggested therapy, they now think it might be something with a pinched nerve and therapy might help!! Let me tell you it took alot of visits to doctors and lots of CO$$PAYS to have them reach that desision!!!!
Today is awesome here, nice breeze blowing in the windows and temps at about 75....my kind of day! Oh for sure.

and doing good. They readjusted some meds and got her pacemaker back to between 70 and 72 beats. She is having some anxiety moments but they are handled with some other meds.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, it meant alot!!
As soon as I get my "life" in order I will be back here more often LOL...just seem to be in a bit of a funk with pages and wordart at the moment. Bare with me I will get it under control!!!

A prayer for my Mom

Sorry, not alot of rambling today. My Mom went in the hospital on Wednesday because of really high blood pressure. She also got put on oxygen because of a problem with breathing. Today they finally got everything back to normal ( a change in meds is what they had to do) needless to say I have had a bit on my mind. Keep her in your prayers my friends, I want her better and home!!
We have Zack this weekend, he just decided coming for a visit was a good thing. heheheh little did he know I would put him to work helping me do some things around the house!!
Ok ladies this is short and I apologize but we have a friend stopping over in a few minutes and I, well right now I look like &^&%%$*!!! (read between those lines LOL)

I am so sorry, life got in the way of my ramblings

Didn't mean to take so long honest! Just seemed like one thing after another and those Juleps really got to me at the party well, anyway here I am.
Nothing really new and exciting tho!! Had Keira Zack and Sam for a couple days last week, oh yes that was fun and they kept me busy. Got some good pictures and will work on them later.
Nothing new with Dennis and his leg...we are back to square one I think. The ABI test came back normal!! So now it will be an orthopedic doctor in Appleton who specializes on the hip area. Dennis is ready to give up! Can't say that I blame him.
The weather here has finally turned nice...76, dry, breezy and sunny the last couple days. Oh yes it could stay like this. I have actually decided I want to find a place that stays "Fall" all year long well except for the one snow day at Christmas. If I find it I will let you know and send you my new address!! LOL
Well ladies I am sure you made some memories and I am sure they have made you smile.

Guess who turned 4 yesterday....Yup Sam the Man!!! I called him in the morning to wish him a Happy Birthday and he wished me one right back (mine is Monday) We are going over to Scott's this afternoon for a cookout Birthday Party. They live across the road from the lake but Sam wanted a swimming pool, so Papa and I got him a small one. Plus a few water toys for him to use. Scott said that's great cus you don't always want to fight the crowds at the lake. My sisters Bonnie and Susi are coming up for the day..wish they were staying longer. Sometimes I miss them so much.
Dennis got a clean bill of health from the stress test he had, no blockages in the heart area. The other day he had an "ABI" test. This will show blockages in his leg. Well duh, this is where the problem has been! He said he could hear the noise (blood pressure I think) on the one leg really loud but when she did the leg that bothers him, it was hardly audible. Hoping whatever it is can be fixed and is nothing to serious. Will let you all know.
Had a busy week, doctor appointments, grocery shopping and Zack graduated from 5Th grade. They had a small ceremony and then ice cream and cake (which I so did not need) it was nice and now next year he will be in middle school. I took some pictures and will get them on soon.
Oh ladies I am sorry this is short and not that exciting today (sometimes even my life is dull) but I best get going, have to run to the store and pick up a card and wrapping paper which I forgot the other day. Make some memories ok? At the end of the day you will be able to sit back and smile.

We were supposed to get thunderstorms today but we just got sunny skies and really strong winds. How strong you ask??? Well strong enuf to put this big old tree right smack in our driveway!!! I am oh so thankful it was there and not any of the ones closer to the house. We never heard it fall, of course we were inside all day with the air running so that might be why.
Scott and Sam helped Papa get it cut up and now we just have to haul the pieces of wood up to the shed. Looks like this will make a nice fire on the fireplace this winter. So, how was your day?????

I got up early, made coffee and just chilled for awhile listening to the rain!! Yup day started out with alittle wet stuff. It stopped soon after and now the sun is out and it is about 70 with a nice breeze! I am lovin it!!!! So am I outside enjoying it....NOPE along with the wonderful weather comes my favorite (NOT) the ever present Wood ticky ticky!!! So I am inside with the windows open and loving the air that is blowing thru the house. Dennis has decided sore leg or not he is going to try and cut the grass so he is outside for awhile.
Last Saturday afternoon we had a bit of excitement(not the good kind either) we take the pups out one at a time and they pretty much stay right by us. The two of them together well lets just say they don't know we exist!! Somehow they got out the patio door, must have pushed the screen part and the last thing we saw was the back end of both of them as they ran across the field and into the woods next to us. Now this woods is about 180 acres and ends somewhere down by the Oconto river. No roads just 4 wheel trails. Did that stop us...No! Dennis got out our 4 wheeler and took off, I got in the windstar van and took off. Let me tell you I was on trails with my van that I was not meant to be on. A few times I had to back all the way up cus it got to narrow. I was cranking that steering wheel like crazy, avoiding ruts and mud and trees. I think I put most stunt car drivers to shame!! (when I told Zack, he was like "You drove the van thru the woods? Wow Cool Grandma") It was about 1 1/2 hours later that I was coming back home to see if they had shown up when i spotted two yellow spot in the woods next to our driveway. They came right to me when I got out of the now scratched on the sides van! Dirty, wet, full of wood ticks (20 on Kota alone) but I gave them such a hug!! They got a bath and promptly went to sleep!! LOL We now have a gate by the patio door and the pups are going to be learning the meaning of you best get your *** back here now!!!!
I want to tell you all something tho. When I was coming home, I was yelling, I guess at God, telling him No, don't take our puppies, Then thinking we would never see them again, I gave them to Him, told God to keep them safe and bring them back if it was his will. It was no accident that I turned my head and looked towards that woods and saw them. I hope I am making sense. I sometimes am guilty of giving God my problems and then trying to fix them myself anyway...instead of really letting it go. Something as small as this, well it made me stop and think. There have been 3 times in my life when I really did let go and let God and those 3 times it worked out, not every time the way I thought it should but the way it was meant to.
Anyway pups are home and I have rambled way more than I should have and blogger will not be happy.

We had company for a few days this past week. A good friend and two of his daughters came to try their luck at getting a turkey (they were not to successful) It was nice having them here and I love them dearly but now that they are gone, my house can get back to some sense of normal!

I worked on a new wordart and will post it later on the other blog. This is the page I made. My Zack, he is growing up way to fast. He will be 13 in December and this guy already has girls falling all over him. I think at last count Carin said there were 4 or 5 calling the house for him.

Farmer McBrown had a stress test on Monday, not the walking kind because of his leg but the one with the dye and the waiting in between scans. Made for a long morning. We will see what it shows. Still waiting to see when he can get in to that hip guy. I just wish they would come up with something!!

Well ladies I best get something done. It's not like I don't have alot to choose from, lets see...dishes, laundry, dusting, yard work...oh the list goes on!!

The dog ate the remote!!! Yup, I thought Mo was just laying nicely on the floor in the living room, being quiet and nice...NOPE! That little bugger had my remote. He chewed the bottom of it and tried getting the battery(he only put a few teeth marks on that) he managed to do enough damage to the buttons so that nope nothing works!!! Oh yes I love my puppies!!
We have company this week, a good friend of ours and two of his daughters are here to try turkey hunting. So far they have seen and heard some birds but nothing to get a shot at. Hubby did go sit in a ground blind a couple times but his leg is still hurting so he stays home most of the time. On Monday he goes for a stress test, not the walking kind because of the leg, but one where they will inject dye and it will take 5-6 hours for the whole test. Cardiologist said maybe there is a blockage somewhere in the leg area. Sure hope something is found out, our calendar is filling up with appointments and not the kind we would like!!
Well ladies I have stuff to do before the turkey "watchers" get back so best be on my way. Take time today to make some memories, you will thank yourself later!!

At least it's not raining yet

We have had a bit if rain lately, tho not as much as places down south. The grass is finally green, and the wild flowers are growing in the woods around our house. A trillion trillium's LOL!!!
Want to let you all know that Dennis is still having some problems but hopefully we will get answers we need soon. He had another MRI on Friday, this time on his back. Something somewhere has to give us answers!!! We have been to enough Doctors lately!
Speaking of Doctor visits..... hehehehe. Dennis had to go to a yearly checkup with one from Shawano and of course after the appointment he wanted to go to Navarino wildlife area to see how much water was down there (it's a hunting area for deer, ducks and turkeys even) well, as we drove down one of the roads I spotted a family of Canadian geese...Mama, Papa and 5 cute little babies...we came to a stop to let them cross the road and we were going to watch them go out into the water. Mama was fine, babies were fine but Papa...Not so fine!!! He bent his neck down and did that hissing sound, what an attitude!! I had the window rolled down and quickly shut it as he walked towards the van. He was not afraid of the van at all, he got in front of the van and the next thing we knew he was up by the windshield and then up on the roof of the van, pecking at it and hissing. Let me tell you if you have never seen a goose spread eagle on your windshield, you are missing out!! They are BIG!!! He came down after a few minutes and walked back over by his family, we decided that was a good time for us to get out of there. That was either the dumbest goose or the bravest, I am not sure yet LOL
Well ladies we have company coming next week, a friend of ours and 2 of his daughters are coming up to turkey hunt so I have a house to clean and I best get at it. Take some time today to make some memories, it will be fun!!

I guess you all know that we were thinking the worst where Hubby's problems were concerned and I thank you for your prayers because so far so good. The test showed no synovial "Big long word" but it did show cyst of some kind, but the doctor was not concerned, he wants Dennis to see another ortho doctor who does alot of work with the hip area. Maybe some type of arthroscopic procedure to check out the area for tears in the cartilage of the hip joint. He also recommended a scan of his spine only to rule out problems there. But so far so good!! Will keep you all posted as this "adventure" goes on.

Scott and Sam the Man are stopping over later to pick up some things that Susi bought up for him, so I will see him then. Dennis asked if I wanted to go out for breakfast, but I noticed earlier he was wincing a little when he walked so I think we will be staying in. Not even church this morning...sitting in that pew would be a bit hard for him I think.

This is Shelby (we call her Shelby Lou) Dan's daughter, my "Granddaughter" She graduates June 2 from high school and Dan and Carin had a party for her today. We had lunch at a place not far from their house and then back for cake, ice cream and a get together. It was nice. My Mom, Bonnie and Susi came up too, so we got to spend some time together. Mom is doing okay, she got a bit tired today and spent some time just relaxing in the recliner. Dennis managed to do all right too. We didn't stay long at the party tho cus his leg was starting to bother him a little. He goes on Tuesday to see the ortho doctor. From what the nurse said when she called, there are 4 areas the doctor wants to discuss with us. Say some prayers please that this is something minor.
Other than that it has been a quiet few days, not alot happening in our world. Pups are growing and Mo has proved he is a great Lab retriever, he can retrieve ducks yup....even if they are on the front of the NEW waterfowl magazine that Dennis just got in the mail. LOL Yup, he rather shredded that baby while I was in the other room!!! Dennis was not a happy camper!!!

But Hubby is going to call the ortho doctor today and see what the hold up is. He is not in so much pain anymore, but has some numbness from the knee to the foot. I know this is on his mind alot (can't blame him for that)
Today I will have a phone interview with Social Security...yup I am getting old LOL. I decided to take my SS at 62 and my birthday is in June. So apparently they have nothing else to do and will get mine taken care of way early. With the price of gas it is great that I can do this on the phone and not have to drive the 60 miles to their office.

It's been one of those weeks. I have spent time doing everything and nothing, does that make sense??!! I have tried working on wordart, I managed to get one done and even a quick page, but that was just "busy work" I played on Farmville, plowed fields and planted crops, that was just stuff to do, you know brainless stuff.
Farmer McBrown has had some problems, he started getting really bad pains in his leg the other day, about a week and a half ago. when I say bad I mean bad enough that we went to the ER and he never wants to do that. No blood clots, which we thought it might be. So they took x-rays and gave him a shot for pain)which did about as much good as a band aid on a severed arm(oh gross) and sent him home with an appointment to see regular doctor. Bottom line reg doctor sent him to ortho doctor and ortho doc sent him for an MRI. The ortho doctor said from the x-rays they had taken in the ER(although they are a bit blurred) it looks like a form of "synovial osteochondromatosis" which is rare in itself, but Dennis has some type where the growths are not in the fluid area but on the bones themselves. We will get the results of the MRI hopefully Monday or Tuesday. In the mean time he sometimes hurts so bad he gets dry mouthed and just feels sick. I have never seen him in this much pain ever.
I guess this all explains why I haven't been such a great blogger lately, just have alot on my mind. If you could my friends, maybe say a little prayer for him. We are hoping that this is something that can be easily fixed but we wont know till the doctor tells us. He is already talking about Dennis going to a hospital in either Milwaukee or Madison for test or surgery.
I will keep you all posted.

Sorry Miss Carol, I would have been in here earlier but you know how life is!!! We were supposed to take Sam the Man and Miss KBB to an Easter egg hunt this morning that the church was having but....Keira had a bit of a cough, Sam the Man and his parents overslept and the weather, well to be blunt, it sucked!!! Rainy, cold, miserable. So no hunting for eggs done here today. Instead I ran to the store to pick up a few things and meet Holly to give her and Scott a ham. Quick trip right!!?? Nope! Scott and Holly have been babying their car for awhile and today in the store parking lot it decided to start to die. Would not start! So loaded Holly's groceries into the van and away we went to their house. Had not planned on that( I got to see Sam tho) and it added a couple hours onto the morning.
Then came home and baked that Apple Dapple cake that I sent you all the recipe for, you know me and ovens right, well it smells OMG so good, the sauce is like a bit of heaven...now here is where your prayers are needed....PLEASE let it taste as good when it has cooled!!!!! LOL
Will be a quiet Easter here, Carin is going over by her in-laws (Dan is working out of town and wont be home) and Holly has to work till 6, so Scott is making them a late supper. Dennis and I will have our own dinner here. Which is fine, sometimes staying home is a good thing.
Update on my Mom, she is doing really good. Alittle sore by the incision but otherwise fine. My two sisters have been taking turns spending the night with her.
Ok ladies, that cake is almost cooled enough to take out of the pan (I say that with fingers crossed and prayers sent upwards) and I have supper to get ready so I best be on my way. Make some memories tomorrow, and share alot of hugs with those you love.

Talked to my Mom last night and then again this morning before surgery and she wanted me to also Thank you all. The surgery went fine, she will be in the hospital at least till Tuesday afternoon. (my opinion, they send people home way to early) Doctor said everything was good. The pacemaker and defibrillator are being watched and checked. I wanted to be down there so badly, but with this cold I knew that was not such a great idea, she doesn't need any type of infection!! Ok ladies off to try and function LOL!! Love to you all with all my heart!! Boy I sure do have some super friends in all of you and if for one minute you think I am not Thankful for you all, well your wrong, I am thankful everyday!!! Hugs

I do not like Spring Colds!!!

I have spent the last few days either trying (and I do mean trying) to come up with some new stuff for my wordart blog, or going into facebook to rearrange and plow a virtual farm, or just sitting on the couch with a blanket and a runny nose!! Oh and let's not forget the watery eyes!! I have not been good company for anyone. I blame the cold on my shorter haircut. LOL You know the longer hair kept my neck warm! hehehe! I need this to be gone by Sunday (have a feeling it won't be) because my Mom has surgery on Monday to have that pacemaker put in. I am thinking that it would not be a great idea for me to be around her right now. She does not need this cold. Hair color???? I chickened out and just got it cut, purple was not going to happen and by getting it cut I managed to get rid of some of the gray. I have pics of b4 and after and will post them one of these days. As soon as the eyes stop watering so I can see LOL Well ladies as you can tell I was up early (actually it was 5 am when I got up) and I have a few things to take care of before I crawl back onto the couch. Sapping time is about done for the year

Hubby is outside cooking down the last patch for this year. The weather is turning warmer(like 45 is warm right?) during the day which helps to make the sap run but it has to get colder at night, which thankfully it isn't anymore (knock on wood) So today he will be taking the taps out of the trees, plugging the holes with dowels (so the tree doesn't die I think) and calling it done. One more batch to cook in the kitchen and then I can totally scrub the floor in there, there tends to be sticky stuff in places I cant believe!! LOL Hubby also said he will take a year off from gardening and flippin chickens this year too!! Will believe that when I see it LOL We had Sam the Man for an overnight visit on Thursday, Daddy is standing up in a wedding this weekend in Milwaukee, so we had Sam until Friday and the his other Grandma has him till Sunday night. The pups sure do love him, with all the licks and kisses they were giving him, I have a couple pics of him and them and will get them on here later. I am off to Shawano later today, time to get my hair cut, it is getting way to long...also way to gray!!! Thinking about coloring it "EEK " I have not thought about coloring the gray until now. Saw a picture of me and it looked like I had a brown cap on my head. LOL My hair is only really gray on the sides anyway it looked weird! really wierd!! So what color ladies???? should I do that purple thing that some do?? or maybe a nice platinum blond?? hehehehe!! maybe just light brown huh?? Well Ladies the pups are wanting to go out and I am in charge of them while Hubby is taking care of the sap so I best do my thing with them. Might make some memories today, hope you do to! Been busy doing nothing again

with the snow still outside, it's hard to get in the "yippee it's spring " mood around here. I start doing some spring cleaning and then decide nope not in the mood yet. So instead I either read or play with the computer. This picture I took of Miss KBB quite awhile back but wanted to try a new wordart and this was the perfect picture.

Got some news from my Mom the other day, she has to have a pacemaker put in. Her ejection fraction is 25%, that is way low!! So on the 18th of April she goes in for that. I will be making a trip down to be there that day. Say a few prayers Ladies, she is not the healthiest right now so this is kind of scary.

Then the other day Carin called to tell me she had to go for an MRI today. Her left knee has been bothering her and the doc thinks it could be a torn Meniscus (not sure I spelled that right) with a 6 week if not more recovery time from that type of surgery, well school, kids and all that she does... she is not a happy camper. Praying that it is the torn thing and nothing more for her.

Life has a way of just throwing us a curve ball once in awhile doesn't it???

Well Ladies I best be looking busy, I have to clean this office but I keep putting it off...maybe today!!!??

Nope not quite! LOL we did do some cleaning in the morning and just when I thought I could come in here well, Scott called and asked if he could bring Sam the Man over for awhile (they had an engagement party to go to) so yup Sam came for a visit and all thoughts of getting my ramblings done went out the window. I spent the rest of the day watching various Scooby Do movies and playing with trucks and cars. Sorry Ladies ramblings took 2ND place to Sam.

Speaking of windows (hehehehe) these photos are views out my patio door and my front window. See the brown muddy grass?? I was starting to not mind the muddy footprints from the puppies, now they are gone, replaced by snow prints!!! In a matter of hours the other day we went from Spring to Winter!! Dennis measured in a flat area of the yard and it measured 20 inches, no you did not read that wrong, I did say 20!!! He did try using the 4wheeler with the plow, but that lasted an hour and then he got stuck. We had to wait till a good friend could come and use his big plow to open the driveway up. He came a day later. Good thing we didn't have to go anywhere, even the 4 wheel drive Ridgeline would have had a hard time getting thru this stuff! That one hot day in August??? well it might be hot but I am thinking there might also still be a couple snow drifts hanging around too!!!

I thank you all for trudging thru the snow to stop by for a visit. Yes Miss Carol, we will try to keep the snow here and not send you any, Miss Scarlett I thawed the Julep out and it was awesome!! Miss Sylvia, I am so glad Jack has been found, what an adventure he must have had! Miss Gerri, yup syrup still be made. Of course Famer McBrown had to empty the snow from the buckets and start over, but it has started dripping again so batch #2 will be started this week.

Well Ladies, I have to get in the shower and then head to the store for a few things so I best get my act together. Hope you all made memories yesterday and that you put them somewhere safe.

it won't be long and that first batch will be inside on the stove getting finished and poured into jars. Farmer McBrown is out there now straining the sap and checking the numbers on the gauge. Our son Scott will be coming over to help today. That first batch is always the best so I am looking forward to it. Right now our yard is starting to smell like a Sunday morning pancake breakfast.
Seems like this has been both a long and short week. Got somethings done but ran out of time on others. Have a (for now anyway) working Cs program so I am playing with that a bit. I did make a qp(on my other blog) using some stuff I had made. I think playing with that program and getting it on my computer caused me a few more gray hairs but hopefully worth it. LOL
WooHoo our snow is melting LOL not all but some anyways. We have brown yucky grass showing now in parts of the yard. I would get excited and all but ... there is snow predicted for this coming week. LOL
I also remembered this week why we only have corned beef and cabbage once a year at our house. I love it but does it love me??? aahh not so much!!! And I bought some Irish Soda bread at the store, it was awesome...so.... Yup I tried baking some of my own. You got it, I found out that I have to add that to the list of things I can not make!!!! The one from the store was solid and moist and mine was crumbly and dry. Yup if it has to do with flour sugar and an oven well I just should not go there ever!!!!!!

On Thursday Dear hubby tapped 40 trees, some have double taps in them. He hung the buckets and waited..... Today while snowflakes were falling he collected sap, he got over 50 gallons!!!! So now there is a fire going out there and sap is starting to cook. Me I did laundry and watched puppies LOL!!! I think Mo (the male) has a shoe or should I say boot fetish!! I think I have told him no at least 50 times but he waits 5 minutes and then goes back and gets my one boot again. He doesn't chew it, just carries it around LOL
Yup we got snow this morning, kind of a mix really. But the temps are alittle higher and it really isn't amounting to much. Going to be in the 50's by next Thursday. You know it is wierd, in the summer when it gets down to 50 we are cold...this time of year when it gets up to 50 we want to open windows !!! Go figure!!!
Oh, have to tell you all something (not sure how i feel about this) I was in line at Walmart the other day and this lady behind me(she was maybe 25) said
Nice Stranger Lady: " Excuse me, but I love the way you have your hair frosted, may I ask where you have it done?"
Me (looking around wondering who she was talking to and then realizing it was me): " Umm, I don't have it frosted"
Strange lady: " oh you mean that's natural, has it always been like that, it is so pretty I would love that"
Me (figuring out she was referring to my grey hair) : " Are you married? I asked, "Do you have kids?" She informed me she had recently gotten married and no kids yet but planning on about 3!
With the nicest smile I could come up with I replied: " Be patient, you will have this same look some day!!"
Someday maybe I will color my grey, but for now, nope! I earned it, I am proud of it! LOL
Oh well Ladies I best go see what I can put together for supper. Hope you all made memories today. We made a few.

Wonder how far into the alphabet our weatherman with the sense of humor will be going this year!!?? Woke up this morning to more of this white stuff on the ground. Dogs love it, birds don't seem to mind it.....me.....not loving it so much!!! Temps are getting up there tho and that is a good thing. Will be 40 on Friday so this stuff should be disappearing right... wrong ... another storm coming Saturday!!!!! LOL Oh well I put up with the winters here because I know that summer(even with the wood ticky tickies) is coming and then Fall!!! I love Fall in Wisconsin!!!

Did you notice the circled area on that photo? That is part of the stove that Dennis makes his syrup in. He put it out this past weekend hahahahaha what was the man thinking???!!!

Wanted to get this on now as the antenna that gives me internet is filling up with white heavy snow and not sure I want to get a ladder out and clean it off! LOL

Mat sent me a recipe for "Tuscana" soup.... oh my goodness. I was alitttle spooked at first because it called for chopped kale and I really had never cooked with that before, but let me tell you this was so good!!! Even hubby liked it and he is usually a meat and potato and not mixed in a soup form kind of guy. I did change a few things, I added chopped onions and I deleted the crushed red pepper flakes ( I had the onions in the cupboard but no flakes LOL) So thanks again Mat (i am sure if any of you want this she will be happy to send it to you) you have added another new recipe to my kitchen. (I love to cook by the way, I just cant bake cookies)

Also wanted you all to know that ramblings might be missing in the morning, maybe all day. We have a funeral to go to in the morning and then a lunch right after. A very good friend of Dennis's passed away (Ron and Dennis used to train the dogs together 2 or 3 times a week for the last 9 years.)

Ok I best get supper dishes done for some unknown reason they just don't seem to do themselves!!!

Got a late start today, we went in to The Falls (that's Oconto Falls for non northern Wisconsin people LOL) and met Carin and Miss KBB. Had to pick up a couple things at the Dollar Store and at the Pig (that's Piggly Wiggly, a grocery store LOL) Then over to Scott's house with some things he needed. We had to do this early again as another weekend is here and ... Yup more snow is falling!!! Not sure how much this time, they haven't given this one a name so should be maybe 3 inches. Then we will get freezing rain and snow mixed on Sunday!!! Oh can you all tell I am way past loving winter and moving on to I Do Not like this Flippin' stuff !!!!!
On another note, Dennis is doing great. No problems with his eye after surgery. He goes the 8Th for a check up and then to order new glasses. He will be all set for maple tree tappin time!! Which if the weather ever does get better should be in about 2 weeks. Oh how I love that first batch, it is always the best one!!! Sticky kitchen floors and all I love it!
Well ladies, I have some odds and ends to do so I best get started, might make a few memories today not sure...but you make some if you get the chance!

Had to have Dennis at CMH early this morning for his eye surgery. He just went back with the nurse. Hoping that this surgery goes as good as the last and all caterachs will be gone and he will be fine. While he is in surgery I am sitting in the waiting room eating the most awesome blueberry muffin and playing on thier computer. LOL

We got about 13 plus inches!!! What was starting to look like brown muddy grass is now pure white again!! I had even gotten to where I didn't mind the muddy paw prints LOL

Thank you Gerri for the awesome cookie recipe book...I will be using it all the time...for a COASTER!!!!! I decided to try a simple recipe "Oatmeal chocolate chip" They smelled so good, they were soft...They cooled so nicely....They turned into HOCKEY PUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone said put them in a container with a slice of bread to help soften them....believe me one slice did not work..a whole loaf would not work! No more cookies nope all done, buying ready made in a package from now on.
That was one of my moments this week, the other one...you all remember that my Windstar had been recalled for a bad rear axel..I am driving a rental 2011 Ford Focus (which I love) that Ford is footing the bill for. Wellllllll....another recall on my van has just happened, the steering and the subframe(part that holds transmission and steering and oh important parts to keep you going the way you are supposed to on the road) is bad!!!!! If they find out it is unrepairable then Ford will buy my van back, not for full new value but at least for something... oh it has been fun. They could just give me the Focus I am driving I would be happy LOL
On a good note, Hubby and I went into Green Bay yesterday and while there had an early Valentines Day lunch at Olive Garden...ooohhh so good. I had a new dish they have it is Ansiago chicken with cheese stuffed ravioli...oh it was awesome!!!! Thank you Susi for the gift card!!
Well ladies, I have to make a quick run into the Falls to get my lottery tickets for tonight(I know waste of $5 but hey ya never know! And I have Susi Homemaker stuff to do around here today so I best get my act together. Will be making memories I am sure, hope you do too!

Gerri's son Nick and I had a small wager on the outcome of the Super Bowl. If by any slim chance the Steelers won..I would wear something with their emblem on it....and WHEN the Packers won...Nick would wear a cheesehead!! Guess you all know how that turned out LOL!!

It was a good game and I will admit for a few moments I was alittle worried but not for long.

and in Mat's case she is adding "back to Wisconsin with your cold weather" lol!!! Yup it is Super Bowl Fever here in the Green Bay area. TV stations have things like "Destiny in Dallas" or "All Access Pass" I will be curled up watching the game and cheering them on. (Sorry Nick)
We lucked out with the snow storm that hit down south, we only got a few inches, my sisters and Mom got any where from 18 to 23 inches. If we had gotten that well, I am thinking we would not be having that one hot day in August this year!!
Sorry I have to cut this short today but I have a list of things to do and none of it getting done with me sitting in the office.

Must be Wisconsin in January!!! We got about 6 inches of that fluffy flippin' white stuff over night and it has started snowing again. I will say it is pretty sticking to the trees but sticking to the driveway and the roads well not so pretty!!
Plus a head cold has found it's way to me. Oh Joy! Went to bed last night before the news even came on, just knew I needed some sleep. Then woke up at 5am could not get back to sleep.
Dear Hubby and I were talking about doing Maple syrup again this year. He told me only about 6 more weeks and he can tap the first tree. Made me feel good for a minute thinking about no snow and maple sap cooking....then I remembered the year he dug thru the snow to put in taps! The man is dedicated if nothing else.
Might not have a computer for a few days next week. But hopefully for a good thing. A while back I purchased cs4 on ebay. Great price and was excited! Got it and found out the activation code was invalid!!! I have tried everything to make it work and no success. Get my money back you say...been there..done that...got the t-shirt...but no money back! Anyway I was talking to my friendly guys at my ISP and they said they could maybe find a work around way to get it in. I hope so, because I really loved making elements and would love to make some kits someday.
Well ladies I best be on my way, time for a cold pill and some housework. Get a chance go make some memories today, they are usually free to do and the rewards are awesome!!

She's back

We saw her the first year we moved in. She was just a young fawn. Her leg had been taken off at the shoulder, either a hunting mistake or even another animal. Not sure. We really didn't think we would see very much of her. We were wrong!! She has grown into quite a lady!! LOL She had fawns a few times, once even twins LOL and what a fighter she is, I have a picture of her up on her hind legs kicking at another deer with her one good leg. When she walks across the field, she is very slow, you can almost feel each step and how hard it must be for her...but let me tell you when she runs....Wow! Like all the others, so fast!!

We thought we lost her this year. We hadn't seen her since October, then a couple weeks ago while I was watching the other deer in the small ravine behind our house I spotted her coming down the hill. Not ashamed to say I had tears in my eyes. She is our baby, our girl.

My hubby is a hunter, there are deer hunters all around up here..but..this brave lady has a free pass! No one even makes an attempt to shoot her. Like my hubby says, she is something to watch...and we do!!

No one told her she was handicapped, no one told her she couldn't make it...So she did!!!

She has an attitude that simply says " Just Watch Me"

Sam the Man doesn't have to go anywhere to have an adventure, he is one!!! Took this picture of him BS (before snow) and wanted to use it with the newest bit of wordart. He was over yesterday, actually stayed over Tuesday night into Wednesday. He was in need of a new winter coat and because kids grow so fast, we went to a place called New Beginnings. They have what is called "gently used" items. Found him an awesome new coat for like $6!!! Plus hat and gloves! Not bad! Spending big $$ on kids who will outgrow the item in a month is not my idea of good spending sense! Anyway there was a little blue toy van there and he wanted it, I told him no not today so he asked the sales lady LOL. Well when we checked out she asked me if it was all right to give it to him. So Sam the Man left the store with the biggest grin!! He is a charmer that's for sure. Love you Sam to the moon a zillion times!!

Was just surfing the net and found this folded frame by "Dreams fulfilled" and wanted to see what I could do with it. It had great directions on how to make the pictures look right and waalaa I did it. Yup my heart that's for sure.Love these bubs more than they will ever know!

So how bout them Packers WOW they really plucked those feathers off those Falcons huh??!!

Now we have to sit back and see who beats who today to find out what team they play next. The Bears play the Seahawks (would love to play the Bears) and NY Jets play the Patriots(Zack is a true NY anything fan and so of course he is cheering on the Jets. LOL I saw him when he came home from school the other day and he had a NY Yankee tshirt on and of course his NY Yankee cap. (the one without the opening in the back, cus he knows whats what) He would love to get a chance to go there someday.

Yes ladies I am wrapped back up in my pink snuggie(it is so cold 28 tomorrow and that will be the highest temp for about the next week or so, going to drop to single digits for highs! Am really not liking this flippin weather!!!!!!) and the first football game is coming on so I best be out there paying some attention to it.

Ok so it's not early morning ramblings but I have an excuse...I went to bed last night not feeling so good and woke up the same way. Better now and so here I am!!
Ok people are you a Falcons fan or a Packer fan??? We play the Falcons tonight and I have everything crossed(well almost) they are a pretty good team so the Pack has a tough job ahead. So if your all looking for me later I will be the one curled up on the couch, in my pink snuggie, with my warm slippers and my hot coffee, oh and eating chicken wings and bacon wrapped water chestnuts. LOL
Hubby is doing much better, he goes next week for a checkup on his eye and to see about new glasses. Right now he is wearing an old pair of glasses with the lens popped out of one side. Hey it works!
It is so cold here, (not as cold as Miss C tho, thank goodness) and more snow coming Monday. I gave up wishing for summer...now I would settle for March!
Talked to Miss KBB this afternoon, she was "Helping Mommy put the new puter together and figuring out why there are 100 wires under the desk" her words!! Her and Zack are coming for a long weekend next Friday, they are off school and Carin is not. They will spend some time with me and Papa and the pups. Who right now are curled up as close as they can be to the fireplace.
Well ladies sorry this is a bit on the boring side but every once in a while even Miss Boots as a quiet time.

These two have grown so much! I have no clue where they are getting the size from. In the bottom picture, the littlest one is their Mom! Widge only goes about 38# these two go 52# and 58#. They are slowly (and I do mean slowly) getting to a point where they are learning to listen to me just a bit more. For awhile I was pulling hair(mine) out!! If anyone tells you to raise litter mates...stuff something in their mouths!! This has been and will continue to be a challenge.

But I love em all and wouldn't want to have it any different(did I really just say that??)

Sitting here today waiting for the next snow storm to come, should be later tonight. Oh Joy!! Not a big one tho and that's a good thing.

Remember a while back I told you about the 3 legged deer we have around here? well we thought we had lost her, hadn't seen here since October and with the wolves, and coyotes we have we thought maybe she was gone..but the other night I looked out by our bird feeder and there she was. Made me smile, she is a fighter that's for sure.

Well ladies I have a crock pot calling my name, and a house to straighten up, we have company coming tonight..so I best be off and busy.

yeah right like that's going to happen!! Wanted to get in here early for some serious rambling but you know what they say about plans!! I did some wordart and checked emails and then stopped for a breakfast break and came back to a computer with no Internet. Nope Miss G not the trees fault, the tower was having a problem. Up and working now tho so here I am.
Spent some time putting away the last of Christmas, still have some lit garland around the front door but it is way to cold to stand out there and take it down. Nope might be using it for a porch light till August! LOL
Dear hubby is doing really good, he goes the 18Th of this month to have a check up and be fitted for new glasses. He now carries a card in his wallet saying he has an implant hehehehehehe!
Got a recipe book for Christmas(a cookie one, yes) and I am going to try one of the cookies this afternoon. If you see that big cloud of black smoke in the sky, you will know where it's coming from! Hey it's not my fault no-one got me a new oven and that someone thought I could read a recipe!!
Well ladies I best be off to the kitchen, gonna make memories along with those cookies. Hope you have all had a chance to make memories today...it is so much fun!

Surgery was good, he slept for a few hours after we got home. Today he goes back to the doctor to check things out. Hoping for a clean bill of health and that all is well. Thanks to you all for thoughts and prayers for him. (he needs all he can get sometimes LOL)
Ok off to be Susi Homemaker, have load of laundry to do and also to check the Internet for that one special FESTIVAL !!!

I have gotten the year right on every check I have written so far, I know what time it is and the date....the only think I can't seem to get right is the day!!
Dennis is scheduled for cataract surgery on Thursday the 6th...I have been positive that it was Wednesday!! Brain is slowly packing for a vacation I think and has not told me!
Anyway yes he has surgery in the morning, his eye has been bothering him for awhile now and he will hopefully get some relief. Needless to say, we have been busy doing things around here that needed to be done and he can't do right after the surgery. So between that and pups and putting Christmas back in the closet and (oh don't laugh) getting talked back into farmville) and wordart and blogs I have been busy!!
Hope you all had a great New Year, ours was quiet. I actually missed the ball being dropped not just once but twice!!!
Ok ladies I hear hubbies voice gently calling from the other room so I best act excited to give him a hand with something!! LOL

Busy day today...Dennis had another surgery on his wrist this morning, yup another ganglion cyst. He must grow them good because in about 2 months he has to go in and have some taken off the side of his knee. That bunch looks like a cluster of mini grapes! A few of those they will not remove because they are to close to an artery. Add that to the Cataract surgery on the 6th of January and the dental work later and he and I will be spending some time at the hospital. He is doing fine today tho, surgery went great and Doc said this cyst was an easy one to do. He and the dogs(yes all of them) are sleeping in the living room right now.
We got more snow last night, about 3 inches, that was after getting about 6 inches earlier in the day. White is quickly becoming one of my Least favorite colors!!
Well Ladies I am off to do up dishes and enjoy the temporary quiet LOL

I have to share a moment with you all...my warped sense of humor showing thru I guess...We were all standing in a circle holding hands before we ate and I was going to say grace..well.. I looked around at every ones quiet somber faces and... I said "Ok Now, you put your right foot in you put your right foot out" ok it was a moment and maybe you had to be there LOL But it's how we are, we take family, faith, life seriously but we know that you have to make room for a bit of laughter, and we know that the God we believe in understands and laughs with us, (just as he cries with us) after all He is the one that put us together and believe me that took a sense of humor big time!!

We have been busy around here. This Saturday is our "Family" Christmas. The one where everyone comes and we get together. Bonnie and her family will be here later today and then the rest will all be here Saturday afternoon. Right now I am taking a break from last minute things and then back at it again. LOL
It is also alot of birthdays and anniversaries this weekend. Kim (my brother Davids wife) Holly (Sams Mom) and Zack of course(he will be 12) and then it is our wedding anniversary on the 18th. We were married in 1976 you all do the math, for me it is sometimes more years than I can remember!!
I am not sure if I will get in here Saturday to ramble so if not, make some memories and don't forget "Fill it to the Brim" treasure each smile, look, word and moment!!!

This was taken out our patio door window. A little while back (BS-before snow) I put stickers on the window....snowflakes and words...Now (AS-after snow) I am questioning my sanity!! Why would anyone in their right mind actually invite snow to come!!! We are settled in waiting for what our weatherman with a warped sense of humor has named "Snowstorm Adian" yup that guy is still naming them! We are supposed to get 12 plus inches out of this one and right now a million little snowflakes are falling from the sky and adding up to so many inches on the ground.

Be warned Miss G it is headed your way for like Monday I think. I am going to send a Thank You letter to Miss C for starting this one on it's way! LOL

Our pups are learning to leave the tree alone, of course they still think they have names that end in NO and LEAVE IT! oh it is fun with 5 pups of various sizes laying on the floor, makes for an obstacle course!!

I finally got some of my Christmas cards done and mailed the other day. Found out Sissi Susi shops at the same store cus she bought the same ones LOL

Well it is time for me to at least pretend to be busy so that Hubby has to take the pups outside, Hey I am busy doing something else right!!

Make some memories today my Friends...if it's snowing make an angel( I might be doing that later)

3. Did Linda agree with Hubby that the multi colored one(that was not on display, but still in the box was a good idea?
4. Did Linda make Hubby rearrange living room so that taller prelit tree would fit on the other wall?
5. Did Linda and Dennis shampoo carpets and corral puppies to get living room ready?
6. Did Linda have Dennis set up tree two nights ago?
7. Did Hubby plug in lights and he and Linda went "OMG"
8. Did Linda and Hubby decide that LED lights are way BRIGHT?
9. Did Linda and Hubby decide looking at tree for more than 2 minutes could cause you to go blind?
10. Did Linda and Hubby take artificial tree prelit with blinding shades of red, green, yellow and blue down last night?
11. Were Linda and Hubby at local tree grower lot this morning purchasing real tree in the freezing cold?
12. Will Linda be fighting with 750 to 1000 lights on real 7 1/2 foot tree Sunday afternoon?

OMG who knew that the older LED lights were so bright ( this year they came out with new ones, less glare!! ( oh and for those saying why not just change the lights to the newer ones... well thought about that, then read the fine print " these bulbs are NON-REPLACEABLE")

We have been busy with getting things ready for Christmas( we will celebrate with the whole family on the 18Th) between floors scrubbed and decorations being put around(and pups thinking their names are Mo Leave it and Kota No) it has been fun!!
Hey did any of you go Black Friday shopping?? Me NO!! the thought of getting up at that hour and freezing in line did not appeal to me! We did go later in the day and Dennis found a drill that was on sale so he now has his Christmas present! Me I found a new gas stove I would like, hmmm wonder if Santa is listening(I mean hey a new oven might make better cookies..yeah right) LOL
